Monitoring
If monitoring is recommended, the following may be included in a monitoring contract:
- Submission of random toxicology testing allows NCPHP to provide objective data to support a provider’s abstinence
- Engagement with a NCPHP-vetted psychotherapist, psychiatrist or coach to help the provider discover the root causes that have created poor results
- Designation of a Workplace Advocate who is aware of the provider’s specific situation and can offer feedback and guidance in the work environment
- Meeting with NCPHP staff in the community for support and accountability
- Participation in local abstinence-based self-help support meetings or other tools for change
Once a healthcare professional is under monitoring, NCPHP is able to support their practice to licensing boards, employers, regulatory bodies, hospitals, insurance companies and other parties that have a vested interest in a provider’s recovery. NCPHP’s ultimate goal is to see our participants thriving and working in their chosen field. North Carolina needs productive healthcare professionals in our communities.
